As Seen In Bust Magazine!

Welcome to the phage! What you'll find here are science inspired, handprinted designs for guys and gals. All designs are cruelty-free meaning there is no sweatshop labour involved. They're not just for science nerds like myself so take around and open the door to the world beyond the microscope!

Join me at Holiday Stop and Shop Friday Nov 16 5-9pm, Saturday Nov 17 11am-7pm, and Sunday November 18 11am-5pm!! Look in See magazine for your $2 off admission coupons. There will be some new products from the phage such as scarves, baby bibs, pullover hoodies, and some limites edition skirts. Stop by and say Hi!

Hey All! Fall is here, dare I say it?? I think I just did. So what a better time than this to get a snazzy hoodie or comfy, cozy thermal long sleeve tee!! Sexy and warm, you can't go wrong! And if that doesn't sell you perhaps this year you should dress up as a microbe and what better spooky, scary shirt than one from thephage.com. Take a look around, there's something here for everyone!

New Styles!

New ladies hot short undies! Also, unisex summer tee (I know it's not summer anymore). The summer tees are extra long for those tall ones among us.

May 2007

Been away for a bit. Had a close encounter with the Epstein Barr Virus and while this may be enjoyable to study it is most definitely not fun to have! Changes are coming here soon. There may be a change in styles for t-shirts appropriate for summer and some fun new designs. The phage plans to keep with the microbial theme but we're going to expand into the realms of anything cool looking and biological. We're hoping to add a brain coral shirt if it works out! Stay tuned!!

Coming soon: a Sightings section! Send me a picture of you caught in action wearing a phage shirt and get $3 off your next t-shirt! (One $3 discount per t-shirt ordered, each picture submitted must be of a different shirt, only one discount per t-shirt)

February 2007

Ah, the month of lovers. This Valentine's Day give your love a phage t-shirt. Here's a tip: when giving the Red Blood Cell shirt you really can say that is comes from the heart! Yeah, it's cheesy but isn't that the Valentine's way?

New Images and Designs!

I now have a proper white on black image for the E. coli Fig1. Tshirt Conjugating E. Coli Cells

As well I have a new design for the men...It's Ebola. That strange virus that pops up every now and again in the African jungle. A rather unpleasant virus which will pretty much liquify your insides. A related species of this virus had an outbreak in a lab in Germany and is therefore called the Margburg virus. Both viruses are of the Filoviridae family because of their filament type structure. Ebola Ebola

Brand New Women's B DNA T! The building blocks of life which encode everything from your eye colour to your toes. I still have to make screens for every size except Women's large. It will be available in other sizes as well as Mens but I want the double helix to be the right length for each size, so it may take a bit. DNA

Brand New Women's Red Blood Cell T! These lovely little cells make up part of your blood. The heme iron-containing group is responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to all the cells in your body and likewise removing carbon dioxide to your lungs. Red Blood Cells

Layering for Fall and Back to School

Back to school time for all us students and time to show off the new threads to that cute guy or girl you want to impress. Nothing starts conversation like a phage designed t-shirt. Each one is unique because they are printed by hand. They're sweatshop free. And let's face it they just look cool!

So, I'm changing things up a bit. I will now only be doing black t-shirts with white print with the exception of the lime green on asphalt tee Volvox. However, if you are interested in customizing the lime green and asphalt version can be done for the other designs with an additional $3 customizing fee. And if you are a special individual who I know personally or if you really want to customize (and let's face it, you're still very special), contact me at the.phage@hotmail.com and we'll talk ;)

Also for the fall collection I will be looking into doing long sleeve shirts but more on that later

Upcoming designs that I have been brainstorming and soon to be released t-shirts:
Red Blood Cells
Eosinophils and/or Neutrophils
DNA
As usual any suggestions are welcome: the.phage@hotmail.com

Hot T-shirts for Summer

Hey all, hope you're enjoying your shirts. If you don't have one there's still enough time to get one and show it off in all the sun's glory.

June 2006

A New Look...New Designs!

Fig.1 Fig.1 is an image of two E. coli cells joined by an F pilus exchanging some plasmid DNA...in other words, what we like to refer to as bacterial sex! Exciting, yes it is. This is the prototype, thus the pink. It will be available in white on black. The graphic takes up the whole chest.

Fungal Fruiting Bodies This shirt shows two fungal fruiting bodies. These will lead to spore formation and subsequent generations of fungi.
both shirts are $30 for men and women, see the Women's and Men's pages for more designs and charges for change of shirt colour and ink.

May 2006

Welcome to thephage.com!

This is the launch of my science inspired line of T-shirts. There are many wild and wonderful things that can be seen in the microscopic world and this line is aimed at showcasing the artistic side of the microbial.

Each T-shirt is printed on sweatshop free T-shirts. The screen printing is done by hand so each T-shirt is a unique piece of wearable art.

Please have a look around. I have a signature design as well as one other at the moment but keep checking back for new designs. In the future I hope to start a mailing list to let you know of new designs.

For now orders should be placed by emailing me.

If you live in the Edmonton Area (Alberta, Canada) email me with any orders and we can arrange to exchange payment for your order. Skip the postage! Keep your eyes peeled to the website for events I will be attending in the Edmonton area. If you want delivery there is a $2 surcharge...gas is expensive!

Contact me with your feedback, I’d love to hear from you!

Thanks
Sibina

Featured microbe:

Malaria. It's that dreaded blood illness transmitted by mosquitos. Within 30 minutes it is hidden away inside hepatocytes (liver cells), then releases into the bloodstream to enter red blood cells. Once in the blood cells they grow, replicate and then explode the blood cell. The destruction on RBCs is the reason malaria can lead to anemia (low iron levels).
